Announces San Jose Mercury reporter Dean Takahashi today in his weblog. Accoring to Takahasi, the folks at Emeryville-based robot company Ugobe that has been working ontheir robot dinosaur, a Camarasaurus named Pleo, are ready to make some big announcements today.First, Pleo will debut for $349 in October at retailers such as Best Buy, Wal-Mart and Target. “As much as I admire the technology inside Wow Wee’s latest, the Roboquad, there’s something about a scuttling spider-robot that freaks me out”, writes Slashgear in an interesting post earlier today. Perhaps it’s partly to do with the degree of AI that makes him inquisitive all of his own accord. Using the supplied remote control would be one thing, but having it suddenly dash out from under a chair would be quite another!
