Announces San Jose Mercury reporter Dean Takahashi today in his weblog. NYC based Japanese Violinist/composer Mari Kimura is playing with an octo-limbed(?) robot designed by LEMUR (the League of Electronic Music Robots) for her (their) performance celebrating the 100th birthday of New York’s Japan Society.

Well, Silicon Valley-based Data Robotics Inc., just released the so-called Drobo, an approach the company calls “the most modern storage unit available”. No doubt, this is an interesting (and somewhat beautiful) idea for innovative data handling. However, it does not come cheap: The Drobo retails for $500 - without the Harddrives.
